The aim of the conference was to discuss the results of the ''Year'', to share examples of good practice, and to identify priorities for the future work of the Council of Europe in the field of Education for Democratic Citizenship and Human Rights (EDC/HRE). The conference was also a contribution to the Action Plan of the United Nations World Programme for Human Rights Education. |

| Title: | Ad hoc meeting to prepare the Forum on the Responsibility of Higher Education for Democratic Culture and Human Rights |
| Description: | In June 2006, the Council of Europe will organise a Forum on the Responsibility of Higher Education for Democratic Culture and Human Rights, jointly with North American partners. The Forum will be a Council of Europe Higher Education Forum, and will also be a part to the follow-up of the European Year of Citizenship through Education as well as of the Forum on Higher Eduaction Governance held in September 2005. The ad hoc meeting will play an important role in preparing the Forum, adn will gather European and US partners. |
