| Title: | Pestalozzi European module for trainer training: Education for democratic citizenship, Module A |
| Description: | The Action Plan of the Third Summit of Heads of States and Governments of the Council of Europe commits to enhancing all opportunities for the training of educators in the fields of education for democratic citizenship, human rights, history, intercultural education and education for language diversity.
The European modules for training trainers complement the existing activities of the Council of Europe for the training of education professionals. The Pestalozzi European modules for trainer training are understood as the start of a cascading process: trainers trained through this programme shall train others in their turn; training materials developed shall be made available for use by others in a variety of contexts. Aims and objectives a) To make trainers aware of the principles and values the Council of Europe stands for and promotes and to appreciate the work of the Council of Europe in the areas of education for democratic citizenship and human rights b) To prepare respective training programmes for dissemination in all signatory countries of the European Cultural Convention c) To support multipliers and help them select a training methodology that will be most effective in sustaining change |
